Beth Basista

Beth Basista of Boardman, Ohio, is known for her colorful, impressionistic realism paintings that capture the essence of landscapes, historical sites, birds, and animals. Working in oils, watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media, she brings decades of experience as an artist, illustrator, designer, and photographer into every piece.
A Youngstown State University alumna, Beth formerly owned the advertising agency Techni-Graphics, Inc. before devoting herself fully to painting. She hopes her artwork brings joy to the spaces they inhabit and inspires conversation.
“I feel as if I paint in a zone—as though in another world—where I challenge myself to reflect a part of God’s workmanship, whether en plein air, enjoying the thrill of painting on location, or in my studio using reference photos from my travels.”
Beth’s award-winning work has been juried into numerous regional exhibitions, including: The Butler Institute of American Art’s Area Artists Exhibits, The Weller Gallery at Fellows Riverside Gardens, The YWCA Women’s Art Shows, The Trumbull Art Gallery, The Canfield Fair, YMCA Artist Shows, Hopewell Theatre, and The House of Benny’s in Poland
Her solo exhibitions include: A 20-piece exhibit at Chamber Gallery in Salem (May 24 – June 20 2024), A 50+ piece show, Beth Basista’s Painted Memories, at the Weller Gallery in Mill Creek MetroParks (Sept 1 – Oct 20, 2024)
Beth is an active member of the Mahoning Valley Watercolor Society and organizes plein air painting sessions across Mahoning and Columbiana counties. She also creates distinctive shell art florals and beach-themed shadowboxes, inspired by her beachcombing adventures and background in cake decorating.
