Black and White is my focus in my photography . For me, it captures the essence of the subject, usually winter landscapes, which are usually colorless anyway. If any color is present, however, it is a distraction. Beyond that aspect, black and white, I feel, is a more elegant, minimal, moody and intimate look that allows and pulls the viewer in to enjoy visual textures, strong contracts of dark, light and various tonalities.

As one can see in my 3 examples of my work, I feature winter at the wetlands, Lake Newport, and other areas of our amazingly beautiful treasure, Mill Creek Metro Park. The photos I choose to take are not the usual type, but a different point of view, my point of view. An Art professor of mine once said “ Do Art that’s close to you.” And, now, that is what I do!
