Jeanne Bryner

Jeanne Bryner’s family was part of Appalachia’s outmigration. A retired board-certified emergency nurse, she’s a graduate of Trumbull Memorial Hospital’s School of Nursing and Kent State University’s Honors College. Her recent book is In Velvet: New & Selected Poems. Her work has been adapted for the stage nationally and also the 2004 Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her play, Foxglove Canyon, was first performed in Akron at a humanities’ conference. She has received writing fellowships from Bucknell University, the Ohio Arts Council (’97, ’07) and Vermont Studio Center. She lives near a Ohio dairy farm with her husband, David.
