Artists Statement
In my work, I explore the beauty and tension inherent in change through visual metaphor. I often use the simple imagery of houses to evoke themes of dislocation and instability, transforming these familiar forms into abstract, contemporary landscapes. Through the deliberate use of line, I highlight the shifting dynamics between elements, creating visual dialogues that suggest movement, imbalance or uncertainty.
I aim to introduce moments of surprise and playfulness within these compositions- offering a counterbalance to the underlying sense of escape, abandonment, or fragmentation. Ultimately, my work reflects on how individuals and communities react to disruption and the evolving idea of the comfort of place and stability.
