Sarah Davis
writer, cosplayer, prop maker, and photo editor
Sarah is a writer, cosplayer, prop maker, and photo editor in Youngstown, Ohio. She holds an MFA from the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and often writes fiction, poetry, and gaming content. In the visual arts, she makes costumes, props, and original artwork through a range of mediums and delights in bringing ideas to life, especially by repurposing materials for her creations. Whenever possible she even blends her love of costumes with acting and improvisation. In the past, she’s worked with companies such as Paizo and JOANN as a contributor or creator. In everything she does Sarah embraces a path of creativity and finds joy in designing, telling stories, exploring ideas, and encouraging others to do the same.
I think storytelling is at the heart of almost everything I love. The right story told through the right medium is the one way I know, for certain, to find feeling. Through cosplay, I get to step into the shoes of characters that strike a chord with me and share my process with others. I get to be the art and perform it. I use fabrics, foam, and recycled materials to create something that has my own special touch. Sometimes it's easy to feel numb out here. I want my creations, in whatever form they take, to be things people can find feeling in.
